Le gouvernement togolais vient de r\u00e9agir au sujet de l\u2019affaire concernant le journaliste Roger Am\u00e9mavoh qui selon les informations, subit des menaces et d’intimidations suite \u00e0 son reportage sur un litige foncier dans la localit\u00e9 de Lat\u00e9kp\u00e9 dans la commune Ago\u00e8-Nyiv\u00e9 6.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans un communiqu\u00e9 conjoint publi\u00e9 ce 17 f\u00e9vrier 2026, la Ministre de la communication Mme Yawa A. KOUIGAN et son coll\u00e8gue de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 Colonel Calixte Batossie MADJOULBA, ont rassur\u00e9 l’opinion que cette situation, dont la justice n’est pas encore saisie, est n\u00e9anmoins suivie avec la plus grande attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Le gouvernement r\u00e9affirme son attachement au principe fondamental de la libert\u00e9 d’expression, garanti par la Constitution de la R\u00e9publique togolaise et les instruments juridiques internationaux auxquels le Togo est partie \u00bb, ont indiqu\u00e9 les ministres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab \u00c0 ce titre, l’exercice du journalisme, dans le respect des lois et r\u00e8glements en vigueur, b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie de la protection de l’\u00c9tat. Aussi, y a-t-il lieu d’inviter toute personne d\u00e9sireuse d’exercer les activit\u00e9s de presse et de communication \u00e0 se conformer aux formalit\u00e9s qui encadrent le secteur \u00bb, ont-ils pr\u00e9cis\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le communiqu\u00e9 rassure qu\u2019en tout \u00e9tat de cause, \u00ab toutes les personnes r\u00e9sidant sur le territoire national, qu’elles disposent ou non de la qualit\u00e9 de journaliste, b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient de la protection de l’\u00c9tat, notamment lorsque leur s\u00e9curit\u00e9 ou leurs droits viennent \u00e0 \u00eatre menac\u00e9s par des tiers \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Le gouvernement demeure mobilis\u00e9 pour garantir la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des personnes et la pr\u00e9servation des libert\u00e9s publiques, dans le strict respect de l’\u00c9tat de droit \u00bb, conclut le document qui annonce le cas \u00e9ch\u00e9ant, les v\u00e9rifications appropri\u00e9es qui permettront d’\u00e9tablir les faits et d’appr\u00e9cier, en toute objectivit\u00e9, les circonstances rapport\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
